Plate carriers
Plate carriers are specialised tactical vests that allow the fitting of hard ballistic protection (i.e. plates) or training plates. Plate carrier vests can of course also be worn on their own, as they offer the most surface area for pouches combined with a low weight. The front of the vest can be used to hold rifle magazines and optionally pistol magazines. If space permits, an admin pouch for essentials can be fitted above the magazines. Additional pouches are usually carried on the side, such as a first aid pouch (IFAK) or for a radio, etc., and on the back, a pouch for a water bladder (which can also be carried in the vest itself) and additional pouches for your colleagues (extra magazines, smoke bombs that can be removed by the soldier, hand grenades, etc.).
